Less/Fewer Exercise

The traditional rule for less and fewer is that we use less for non-count nouns (patience, determination, traffic, pollution, rain, etc.) and fewer for count nouns (laptops, people, employees, services, etc.). However, as this article points out, there are exceptions to this rule. A better rule is the “singular versus plural” rule. We use less for singular nouns and fewer for plural nouns.
